About A House of Study
"A House of Study" is the name of our property at 107 Church Street in Blacksburg. Located just a block off the downtown at the intersection of Roanoke and Church Streets (second floor of State Farm building), the House of Study is conveniently located for students, professors, and residents. Currently, we have several tables and desks available for quiet study time and/or conversation.
Stop by during open hours to enjoy:
- Free WiFi
- Free coffee (certain days)
- 25+ available seats for study, reading, writing, or whatever
- Extensive theological library including commentaries, histories, Apostolic Polyglots, Talmud, and more
Community Partnerships and Co-working
Part of the vision for the House of Study is to create partnerships with local nonprofits, churches, and other organizations in order to improve the lives of those in our community. With the concept of co-working in mind, we hope to soon have a thriving space in which many community leaders and organizations are functioning together. We have a few office spaces that could be rented, as well as a quiet dedicated study room that includes four separate desks that can be reserved by graduate students working on theses/dissertations.
We have many ideas in mind for future events that we hope will work toward our goal of creating fellowship and serving our community. So, please stay tuned! In the meantime, we invite you to visit us during our open hours.
If you are a local artist or the representative of an organization who is interested in partnering with us, please contact Don for more information.
